Norpak

Inspired by Scandinavian design and traditional Pakistani artisanship, we bring you home interior and textile products for a more conscious way of living.

We are a social enterprise based in Sultan Town, Faisalabad, Pakistan. With more than 30 years of experience, we design, develop and manufacture exclusive, handmade interior home products from more sustainable materials.

We strive to be a force for good – for the planet and its people. At the core of our values, lies the quest for a more responsible and sustainable approach to design and production.

Norpak not only secures decent employment to artisans; we also provide free, quality education to children and adolescents at the LAMS school.

Our story

For more than 30 years, we have contributed to building a brighter future for artisans and their families. Through responsible and more sustainable design and production of interior home textiles, our focus has always been and always will be on celebrating artisanship.

It all started with an idea that we could produce the traditional Norwegian rag rugs (“fillerye”) in Pakistan, drawing on the rich weaving experience of local artisans and using waste materials (rags) from local textile factories. Over the years, our approach has always been to make the most of what we have and stretch ourselves to achieve more and better. We have built on successes, and a few failures, and can today present an impressive portfolio of a wide range of home interior textiles, all arefully crafted by men and women who take pride in their work.

To this day, we remain committed to our core values of being responsible, seeking truly sustainable solutions, and engaging with the people who make our products. Our commitment to transparency, sustainable business practices and to being a responsible social force for good remains at the core of everything we do.

This is who we are.

Products & Materials

Our wide range of designs and products continuously evolves and includes rugs, yoga mats, bed throws, cushion covers, baskets, table mats, runners, potholders, tote bags, aprons and drawstring bags, to name a few.

Inspired by modern Scandinavian design and Pakistani traditional artisanship, we strive to ensure that our design, product development and production is carried out in the most responsible and sustainable way possible. That means caring for the environment, using only upcycled, recycled or natural materials, and caring for our staff and their families.

All our handmade products are made from upcycled, recycled and natural materials – they are therefore all unique and better for the environment.

Responsible & Sustainable

In everything we do, we have chosen a more conscious approach to sustainable design, production and overall more responsible business practices. Sustainability is in our DNA, and we strive to ensure that all product development and production is carried out in an environmentally sustainable, responsible and socially conscious manner.

Guided and inspired by the 17 UN Sustainable Development Goals, the world’s joint work plan for eradicating poverty, end inequality and stop climate change by 2030, our contribution to a more sustainable future extends beyond the minimum requirements.

We remain unapologetic in our continued efforts to contribute to real impact, in all dimensions: economic, social and environmental.

Certifications

Certifications contribute to ensuring that all activities at our factory are in accordance with international standards – to protect people and the environment and to ensure sound management and business practices.

All our products are made from more natural, upcycled or recycled materials.

At Norpak, however, we want to go beyond the minimum standards required by these certifications. We therefore continuously strive to exceed expectations in all areas related to environmental standards as well as securing decent working conditions, engagement and involvement of our staff and the local community.
